First! 😊 Your take on Kamala is interesting… One of the key ingredients in the “Secret Sauce” that made me an X-Men fan in the 80’s was Kitty. Her energy and Reader-Insert vibe was a great counterbalance to the melodrama and grimness that permeated the series. I’ve mostly been following the X-Books from the periphery since Hickman left, but based on what I saw in this issue, Ms Marvel does indeed seem to be filling the gap that Kitty occupied. I kinda hated the idea of adding her to the X-Men when it was announced, but for the moment, she seems to be a surprisingly good fit for the team.

I'm clearing out an old stack of comics to get ready to move to a new apartment when a random issue of 'Rise of Arsenal' pops out at me. Suddenly I remember my old favourite comics channel roaring with laughter at the panel where Roy has beaten a bunch of homeless guys to death with a cat. Thanks for the good memories guys. Feels like a lifetime ago but I'll be checking out the podcast again to see whats new.

I'm in this weird nerd subsection of people who never watched Transformers as a kid, and discovered comics the last decade. Inexplicably, I really want to get into them but I'm worried it'll go over my head since I don't know any characters. Josh is speaking directly to me about the Transformers issue.

Really glad to hear Josh is jumping into 2000ad. Ironically Rob Williams has just started a JD story called ‘a Brave New World’ and it’s basically a defund the police story in Judge Dredd. Would love to hear Josh talk about it on the Pod.

I enjoyed the doctor Spock esq moment we got this issue from Optimus Prime, with the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the one.

This was fantastic. I missed all of these back when they were originally released and am loving going through them all. This is a standout. The whole bit around the 26 min mark with the "planning on engaging in another serious relationship" guy to Conor's eyebrow raise, to Josh's "he's calling from in the house" had me laughing so much I had to pause it twice 😂

I’m proud of you hitting 905 :). I actually used to be a big fan probably closer to when you started and then fell out of comics. I recently got back in a few months ago and I’m pleasantly surprised you guys are still doing it. I was just thinking back on the NYCC joystick/ifanboy after party the other day. Good times.

How did I only see this today? That letter from Hank Pym had me dying.

The Transformers cartoon was every but as good as Gi Joe. Many of the same writers - directors and voice talent worked on both. Saying it's not as good is purely subjective to your memory.

Love that they mention back to basics storytelling in comics.

The single. talking head-newscast page in Wonder Women perfectly works thru the escalating Chinese whispers that transmogrify what began as a woman defending herself into a national emergency, terrorist alert and/or diplomatic emergency that's central to the run's plot. This single page also pushes buttons about Right wing media and patriarchal notions of American identity (no women were hurt after all) along the way using a layout that's a call back to stuff in Heroes in Crisis,. I know everyone has an opinion (amongst other things), but jeez-louise if a reviewer's response to that single page is 'it has too many words, for the love of god please keep said reviewer away from anything either sharp and/or involving 'words' in future.

"You don't need to start at #1 to read comics" is what did it for me. 😂

What's the joke with Ron and Augie around the 32 min mark with the "FHM guy" getting the job about?

Ice Cream Man issues can be a little uneven, but overall it's a great series with some amazing issues, I'd recommend going through it, maybe I should give the numbers of the ones I've especially liked
